The Preseason Is Coming To An End, And Other AFC East NewsMany people see the preseason as nothing more than a way for fans to get their early-bird football fix. Not me- I see it as a way to gauge performance, find players to watch, and figure out how my team is going to play for the season. This article talks about the Jets’ preseason finale and what it means to the players. The Pats have a couple of players sitting out until mid-season thanks to some moderate injuries. Troy Brown and Chad Jackson are both out of commission for the moment. PatsFanBlog.com goes into a bit more detail (but not much). I’ve got a lot of my personal interests tied up in this season, though not for money- rather, I’ve got my pride at take here. With the Bills not showing any sign of polish or poise, I’ve got my money on the Phins to make it work for me. Let’s hope they pull it off (c’mon Phins!). You Need to Read: Coming Soon! I agree that the preseason is a good way to see how players are progressing. The problem is you never know what criteria the coaches are judging them on or what they’re specifically trying to work on. I think seeing how players react in different situations during the preseason is more valuable to a coach than whether or not they had the most yards/tackles.
I totally agree with that. I’d love to know where the coach is coming from when they’re evaluating the players.
