AFC East In The Top 50 Players

CBS Sportsline has released their annual installment of the Top 50 Players In The NFL. Here are all the players in the AFC East who made the cut:

2. Tom Brady, QB, Patriots
Not sure if I would put Brady (or Manning for that matter) above Tomlinson, but that is exactly what Pete Prisco did. It will be interesting to see how the Pats and Brady use their revamped receiver core.

11. Richard Seymour, DE, Patriots
Seymour is a great player and I think this is the right place for him. Let’s see if he can produce in 2007 and break the top 10.

16. Jason Taylor, DE, Dolphins
2007 will be Taylor’s 10th in the league, and he’s been a force his entire career. Time catches up with everyone, but I don’t think Taylor’s production is going to fall off this year.

36. Lee Evans, WR, Bills
Evans had a great year in 2006 (1292 yds, 8 TDs) and with Losman gaining composure with every game, I’m expecting more of the same in 2008.

43. Ty Warren, DE, Patriots
Prisco calls Warren the most underrated player in the league. I’m not sure why he’s not higher on this list, then…

44. Kerry Rhodes, S, Jets
Rhodes is a solid, well balanced, safety (5.0 sacks, 3 FF, 4 INTs in 2006), but I’m not sure I would put him in the top 50 players in the league.

I’m really surprised more AFC East players didn’t make the cut. Only one player from the Bills, Dolphins, and Jets made the list. What’s really shocking is that the Jets (a playoff team from last year) have their only player ranked 44 and I’m not even sure he belongs there!
